What is a good Mark up?
I'm just getting started as a freelance designer and was wondering what would be a good mark up percentage?

Comment by Katrina Neufeld on June 17, 2009 at 1:20pm - According to the FDA's 2009 Salary & Price Survey the average markup for buyouts is 33%. I typically use a 30% markup for printing but if the job is particularly large (i.e., expensive) I'll drop that down to 20% or 10%. Good luck!

I'm just trying to be prepared. If you know of any resources that will help me in preparing my estimate worksheet or proposals please let me know. I'd really appreciate it. thanks for replying.
