archop: urban housing choices

If you have come to any of the previous 5 archop exhibition, you know what to expect: Cutting edge architecture presented in a gallery setting. There is excellent food from Charlotte's Bakery and equally enriching conversations about improving Fresno's built environment.

If you have not attended, you are truly missing out on this phenomenon that has grown from ArtHop.

Either way you do not want to miss the 6th installment of archop. We are literally bringing it home with the topic of 'urban housing choices'. Fresnans are demanding urban housing.

We are beginning to have more option to fill that demand. That comes hand in hand with the need for sustainability and the kind of growth patterns that are being discusses with the San Joaquin Valley Blue Print. Housing designs from Fresno and throughout the state will be displayed in order spur these important conversations and get us thinking creatively about our urban housing choices in Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley.

As the center piece of this exhibit will be an installation of a full scale efficiency apartment designed as a Housing First alternative for the Homeless. This type of model is recommended by the City and County of Fresno's 10 Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness. Come experience the space and give your feedback the CSUF Anthropology student who will be on hand to gather data to be integrated into the design.
